What makes us different?
Eco Hotel Uxlabil Atitlán is an authentic eco-tourist project, built and run with environmental and cultural commitment. All our employees are from the community and their friendly attention is an expression of our policy. We provide direct employment to five families and 150 women weavers and nine painters are indirectly employed or consulted by the hotel.
We purchase different products produced locally and have contracts with local builders (buildings, docks, huts, hammocks, lamps, etc. (7 entrepreneurs).
We keep Lake Atitlán shores as clean as possible both in and out of the water. Sewage is collected and disposed into safe holes far from the lake. We endeavor to give protection to a great variety of plants and animals, especially birds. The production and exclusive utilization of organic fertilizer isjust one of our many other environmental measures; also, we use several local-organically produced vegetables and coffee.
